ERIC'S STAFF PICK: Girardin 1882 (Black Label)

"Girardin 1882, the sleeper Gueuze from Brouwerij Girardin in Belgium. Funk forward with a pleasant tartness to back it up. This 4th generation, family owned and operated, lambic producer has been supplying some of the best blenders in Belgium including Drie Fonteinen and Tilquin. 1882 Gueuze Black Label is unpasteurized and unfiltered, and unlike your typical gueuze, is a blend of 12, 18, and 24 month old lambic.

It pours hazy golden in color and hits you in the face with barnyard funk, followed by zesty lemon-lime notes and a balanced acidity - complex, tart, delicious. Girardin only exports a minuscule amount of their beer to the US and ONLY in 375ml, so swing by and swoop one now."

Swing by and visit Eric at Bottlecraft Little Italy!
