Mahr's Bräu Meet the Brewer Beer Dinner

Join us Monday, October 10th at 6:30 for a meet the brewer beer dinner with Germany's Mahr's Bräu.  The 4 course pairing takes place at Liberty Public Market's Mess Hall.  This is the first of many incredible beer dinners to take place at this awesome venue!

The very best beer comes from Mahr’s. This tiny brewery in beautiful, historical Bamberg is an offshoot of one of the city’s best pubs. The region of Franconia, in northern Bavaria, is easily the most interesting part of Germany when it comes to brewing. Franconia boasts the most breweries per square kilometer in the world, and by far the widest array of original beer styles in Germany. Bamberg is the cultural heart of Franconia. It also claims nine breweries within the city limits — for only 70,000 inhabitants — and the best, most eclectic variety of beer styles. It is a matter of intense debate which of Bamberg’s breweries is the best. Mahr’s is our favorite.

Trout with Potato Pancake, Crème Fraiche, Trout Roe

  • A true taste of Germany’s fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.  The hazy, unfiltered lager of your dreams, with unbelievable body, freshness, and flavor.
Ham Style Smoked Pork Loin, Spaetzle, Challerchocker
Paired with Oktoberfest (Sierra Nevada Collaboration)
  • The most authentic take on the style this side of the Atlantic.  A golden-hued festival beer using traditional techniques, heritage German barley, and the Record hop variety - a nearly forgotten German-grown hop.
Apple and Brandied Fig Strudel with Bock Caramel
Paired with Der Weisse Bock
  • A style originally brewed by monks in Lent to see them through the traditional fast.  Dark, strong and very tasty – with all of the fruity, spicy flavors one expects from a wheat beer, and more – but never too heavy on the palate.
