This year, Péché Day will take place simultaneously in 39 different bars: 7 in Québec, 10 in Canada, 14 in the United States and 8 internationally! Péché Mortel Classic Version
Imperial Coffee Stout, 9.5 % alc/vol.
A deep, dark and profound stout. Espresso coffee is infused during the brewing of Péché Mortel, resulting in an intense dark beer with roasted malt flavours enhanced by bitter coffee. The dry finish is long and persistent. Intended as
a tasting experience, we invite you to enjoy this brew in moderation.
Péché Mortel 2017 Special Edition
Stout Impérial au café, 9.5 % alc/vol.
The 2017 Péché Mortel Special Edition is an Imperial Coffee Stout that was brewed with a different coffee than that of the classic version of this beer. For the 2016 and 2017 editions, we chose the M’Beguka, a Kenyan coffee, in collaboration with Saint-Henri, our micro roaster. Because it is a light roast, this coffee offers blackcurrant, strawberry and rhubarb flavours.
Péché Mortel Bourbon 2016
Imperial Coffee Stout aged in Bourbon barrels, 9.5 % alc/vol.
Péché Mortel is an intensely black and dense stout in which co ee is infused during the brewing process. The result is a strong beer where prominent roasted avours coalesce with a powerful taste of co ee. Once fermentation is complete, the beer is aged several months in bourbon oak barrels, which imparts some vanilla and woody aromas as well
as bourbon flavours.
Peach Mortel 2017
Imperial Coffee and Peach Stout , 9.5 % alc/vol.
For the past several years, non-francophone clients of our Montreal brewpub have frequently confused the term “Péché” with “Pêche”, and end up ordering a Peach Mortelle. This confusion gave birth to the idea of brewing a Péché Mortel with real peaches. The fruit’s acidity compliments that of the coffee, infusing the beer with fruity flavours.
Péché Véniel 2017
Coffee Stout, 6.5 % alc/vol.
If the Péché Mortel had a little sister, she would be called Venial ! This version of our classic recipe is lighter in alcohol, for days when a 9.5 % Péché Mortel is not part of the game plan. Brewed with a Colombian coffee cultivated by Mr. Ignacio Quintero, the Péché Véniel offers aromas of roasted malt, caramel, and hazelnuts, alongside the coffee aromas of tangerines, amaretto, and milk chocolate.
Imperial Coffee Stout with coffee from Las Termopilas, 9.5 % alc/vol.
The Termopilas Péché is an Imperial Stout brewed with the coffee of the same name ! The light roast softens the roasted flavours to let the nutty flavours shine through. The beer is also slightly more acidic than the classic Péché Mortel.
