Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods

Join us this Friday, December 16th from 4-7pm in Little Italy for a special event featuring 3 Sierra Nevada barrel aged beers, as well as a keg of Celebration.

"When beer meets barrel, incredible things happen. The passage of time and the influence of wood combine to create a final product much greater than the sum of its individual parts. Our Trip in the Woods series is designed to highlight the complex interplay between beer and barrel.

Each beer has matured in a wooden cask originally used to age and mellow spirits, and the time in slumber creates rich and layered flavors unique to this difficult and hands-on process."
Here's the full rundown and what will be on tap:

Barrel-Aged Bigfoot® with Ginger

"This is a special version of our barrel-aged Bigfoot Barleywine with fresh ginger added into the barrels. The resulting kick of ginger mellows Bigfoot’s ferocious hop bite and adds a new level of brightness and complexity. This beer features notes of burnt sugar, orange zest, vanilla, and candied ginger."

Dark Currant—Barrel-Aged Narwhal® Imperial Stout with Red and Black Currants

"We aged this rich, chocolaty imperial stout in bourbon barrels with a mix of both red currants and black currants for a pop of sweet and tart flavor. The deep, roasty notes of the stout blend well with the berries and barrels to create complex flavors of cocoa and coconut with a mellow fruit undertone."

Biere De Garde—Wine-Barrel-Aged Belgian Ale

"Bieres De Garde are “beers for aging” in the classic sense—round and complex with flavors that ebb and flow over time. This version is a blend of robust Belgian-style ales matured in red wine barrels for layered flavors of straw, fruit, oak, and the unique spice notes of traditional Belgian yeast."

"First brewed in 1981, Celebration Ale is one of the earliest examples of an American-style IPA and one of the few hop-forward holiday beers. Famous for its intense citrus and pine aromas, Celebration is bold and intense, featuring Cascade, Centennial and Chinook hops"
