White Labs Yeast IPA Workshop
We're so stoked to host Erik Fowler of White Labs and pour 4 IPAs with 4 different yeast strains this Wednesday from 5-8pm in Little Italy. This is one of the only times White Labs has ever sent kegs off premise. Erik will guide you through each beer and explain the scientific breakdown of why certain yeast strains exude specific characteristics. We can't wait!IPA - WLP001 California Ale Yeast
This house yeast strain for many breweries can be used in most styles, but really shines in American Pale Ale type beers. Clean fermentation with accentuation of hop flavor and bitterness.
ABV - 7.5% IBU - 56.5
IPA - WLP008 East Coast Ale Yeast
East Coast Ale yeast has medium flocculation which leaves a slightly hazy beer. This strain also produces mild fruity esters.
ABV - 6.5% IBU - 60
IPA - WLP041 Pacific Ale Yeast
Pacific Ale Yeast is a clean fermenter that leaves residual malt character and sugar.
ABV - 7.5% IBU - 55.5
IPA - WLP515 Antwerp Ale Yeast
Phenol producing yeast strain that produces notes of white pepper which create an authentic take on a Belgian IPA.
ABV - 8.2% IBU - 61
